Roll Bounce For Valentine’s Day and Black History Month

The Freshest Events put together an event for Valentines Day and Black History Month called “Blame it on the boogie: A Love Thang.” They collaborated with United Skates Columbus East and Stride Nation Skate to bring this event.

The event was open to the public and was for kids and adults no matter if you knew how to skate or not. Music was provided by DJ O Sharp of the Usual Suspects and The Freshest Events.

This event was put together to not only bring people out in love, but to also celebrate Black History.  The employees all wore t-shirts that had the name of different black inventors. There was also a section where they had the picture of different black leaders and information about them.

Skating not only gives you good exercise, but it also brings people from all walks of life together and with the climate that the country is in right now, this was needed.

There were some kids who were pro’s out there and some who needed a little help, but they were still having a good time.

Stride Skate Nation are the essence of Ohio and have been around for some years.  They have appeared on the local news and are the life of the party and many skating events.

The Freshest Events have been around since 2015 putting together events for the community such as The ReDo, One Love, and many more.

There were couples, kids and their best friends, families skating with their kids and Daddy’s skating with their daughters. The concession stand was packed with kids working up a thirst and an appetite.

This event will be going on again February 28th, 2025, to finish out Black History month for the entire family. Not only will you be having fun skating, but you can also take a moment to learn some Black History facts.
